Extra cabinetry, a heavier mattress in the bunk or an added battery bank pushes it over, and the first thing that reports the problem is the rear suspension, followed shortly by the rear wall joint. When a coach comes in with repeated rear-end structural complaints, the scale tells the story faster than the tape measure does.

For insurance work, Class C claims are where automotive and RV estimating collide most awkwardly. A carrier writes the cab side from an automotive database with published labour times, then hits the house side where no such database exists. Cabover cap repair, laminate sectioning and roof decking replacement all get estimated from measured scope rather than from a book. Between them sits a bead of sealant doing structural work it was never meant to do. When the seam opens, water enters above the windshield header, runs along the cab roof and appears at the sun visors or in the cabover bunk mattress, often a full season after the leak started.

**Cabover overhang converts road vibration into cracked glass surrounds**

The bunk section cantilevers several feet forward with no support beneath it except the cap structure itself. Every expansion joint on the freeway loads that overhang in bending, and the load finds the largest opening in the shell, which is the front bunk window. Cracks appear at the lower corners first and grow toward the centre. Reglazing without stiffening the surround simply relocates the crack. The repair adds laminate at the corners and rebuilds the sill before the glass goes back.

Class C floor plans put the bedroom or the bath behind the rear axle, sometimes with six feet of unsupported structure hanging past it.
